What IAS aspirants can learn from corporate sector?
The employees in corporate sector work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (i.e. 9 hours of work each day with weekends off).
As one climbs the ladder, the work load increases & it may be required to work for longer hours.
You are trapped. There is no escape from work. Either study well & get selected else you will have to take up a job in corporate sector. When you can become an administrator with same amount of hard-work then why not go for a better option?
High-level of stress are part & parcel of the corporate sector jobs. So, don’t think while your preparation that you are the only one undergoing “stress”. Everyone is working-hard to grab better opportunities.
One of the very interesting thing about corporate sector is that on weekends employees don’t look at their mails & usually completely cut-off themselves from the world & spend time with family. As a civil services aspirants you have to disconnect more often.
You have to follow a very strict & disciplined schedule to get selected into the most coveted services.
No interview panel would like to select a candidate who lacks passion & is not careful to details.
