Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA).
Aims: it aims to connect HEIs (Higher Educational Institutes) with local communities to provide indigenous development solutions to backward GPs (Gram Panchayats) /Villages.
Tripartite Agreement: Tripartite Agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Rural Development & Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
> IIT-D will serve as the CI (Coordinating Institute) for the UBA programme.
The MHRD has advised all the HEIs funded by Centre/State to adopt cluster of villages in the vicinity of institutes & provide knowledge & expertise to villages for infrastructural development of GPs.
> UBA will provide basic infrastructure in the village
> It will stop the migration from villages to cities in want of better facilities & opportunities. Hence, will solve the problem of high-traffic & urbanisation in cities.
> Sustainable development is at the core of the programme to realise the dream of Gram Swaraj by Gandhi ji.
> It will provide solutions to facilitate opportunities for livelihood & basic amenities.
> It will be implemented through the PRIs (Panchayati Raj Institutes), District Administration & Voluntary Organisations (VOs) at local level with knowledge-based solutions from HEIs.
